John brings over 30 years of experience as a successful personal injury and workers’ compensation attorney to The Flood Law Firm. He has zealously represented thousands of individuals injured by the negligence of others against the insurance industry. His experience and past success allow him to secure the largest recovery possible for each of his clients. John has secured several multi-million dollar recoveries on behalf of his injured clients.

Throughout his career, John has handled personal injury, workers compensation and appellate claims while working with several local law firms. He founded Montalbano Law, LLC, where he again represented injured individuals against the insurance industry. Victims of motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle accidents, pedestrian accidents, falls due unsafe conditions, animal attacks, nursing home accidents and medical malpractice have all been helped by the aggressive efforts of Attorney Montalbano. He successfully prosecuted and resolved several cases arising from the Kleen Energy explosion in Middletown. He has experience with cases involving dangerous consumer products, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices. He also handles complex cases involving traumatic brain injuries and catastrophic orthopedic injuries.

John understands the way insurance adjusters analyze and defend injury claims because he worked as an insurance defense attorney early in his career. This first-hand knowledge of insurance defense tactics allows him to extract full and fair compensation for his clients

John is a proud first-generation American citizen, as his father and grandparents all emigrated from Italy to pursue the American Dream. John helped fulfill that dream by becoming the first member of his family to graduate from college. He graduated magna cum laude from Boston College. While there, he was in the School of Management Honors Program and served as class president. He was the editor of The School of Management Review, a monthly journal, and received the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Service.

John’s interest in becoming a lawyer dates back to the television show, Perry Mason, where he saw how a skilled and zealous attorney could bring about truth and justice in the courtroom. He attended Boston College School of Law, where he fought for the rights of the injured for the Greater Boston Legal Services Children’s Rights Project and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston. Immediately after graduating law school he clerked for the Judges and Appellate Session for the Superior Court.

When not practicing law, John is often exercising at the YMCA, reading or writing. He is very active in his church, St. Elizabeth Seton in Rocky Hill. John resides in Rocky Hill with his wife Valerie and his daughter, Christi.
