Kevin brings a distinguished career in public service and criminal justice to his role at The Flood Law Firm. Before joining the firm in 2025, Kevin held several key leadership roles within the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice, including serving as Deputy Chief State’s Attorney and State’s Attorney for the Ansonia-Milford Judicial District.

Kevin Lawlor brings a wealth of courtroom experience and public service to The Flood Law Firm. Before joining the firm in 2025, Kevin served in several prominent roles within the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice, including Deputy Chief State’s Attorney and State’s Attorney for the Ansonia-Milford Judicial District. Over the course of his career as a prosecutor, Kevin tried more than 40 serious felony cases to verdict, earning a strong reputation for skilled trial advocacy and ethical leadership.

Kevin’s extensive trial background and deep understanding of the justice system make him a valuable asset to our trial team, where he continues to fight for clients with precision, strategy, and compassion.

In addition to his work in the courtroom, Kevin has shared his expertise as an educator, serving as an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University’s Legal Studies Department and previously teaching at the University of New Haven’s Henry C. Lee School of Criminal Justice and Yale School of Medicine’s Forensic Psychiatry Program.

Kevin earned his law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut. A proud East Haven native, he is also a graduate of East Haven High School and a member of its Hall of Fame.

His professional accomplishments have been widely recognized, including honors such as the Greater Bridgeport NAACP Lifetime Achievement Award, the Arnold Markle District Attorney Award from the Henry C. Lee Institute, and the Irish Echo Law and Order 50 Award, among many others.

Kevin has also served on numerous boards and task forces throughout his career, including leadership roles with the Governor’s Task Force on Justice for Abused Children, the Guardian Ad Litem Services Board of Directors, and several community and youth organizations.

Outside the office, Kevin has appeared on national television programs—including The Truth About Murder with Sunny Hostin and American Nightmare—discussing high-profile cases he prosecuted. He lives with his wife, a Superior Court Judge, and their two children. In his free time, Kevin enjoys golfing, cheering on UConn athletics, and tailgating at New York sports events.
