Sean McHugh is an experienced attorney with a longstanding focus on workers’ compensation and personal injury law. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Trinity College, where he was honored with the John C. Alexander Award in Economics. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Tulane University Law School, where he was a member of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal.
Admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1992, Sean began his legal career representing police unions, focusing on workers’ compensation and labor matters. He later founded his own firm, where he concentrated his practice on workers’ compensation and personal injury cases. Over the course of his career, he has achieved notable success, including prevailing in Sansone v. Town of Enfield before the Compensation Review Board.
In 2026, Sean joined The Flood Law Firm, bringing decades of experience and a client-centered approach to his practice.
He is an active member of the Connecticut Bar Association, including its Litigation and Workers’ Compensation Sections, as well as the Middlesex County Bar Association and the Federal District Court Bar.
Outside of the office, Sean is a former football player who competed at Xavier High School, Trinity College, and professionally in Europe. He has been inducted into the Middletown Athletic Hall of Fame for football. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, skiing, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
